Indulging in & creating a luxurious hotel experience in your home.
I’m a bit obsessed with room service. There is just something about the convenience & luxury of being able to stay in your robe + slippers while enjoying a delicious breakfast or late night snack delivered right to your door.
Since I mostly travel for work, time spent in the room usually means quick outfit changes or refreshes & carving out some time to catch up on the ever building inbox.
If I’m traveling for a full week on the road where, I’m bouncing around from city to city, I always ensure I’ve arrived the day before my itinerary it set to start. It’s essential to get myself organized & ready for the days ahead.
It’s also important to me that the accommodations I’ve chosen are not only cost efficient BUT that amenities are provided. Full service gym is a must, 24 hour room service is a huge plus & on-site restaurant/bar space is welcomed for colleague meet-up spaces.
For purposes of this blog I am mentally transporting myself to my absolute favorite NYC hotel, The Ritz Carlton @ Central Park South. This hotel is placed in an iconic location & since I am a Marriott preferred member, my chances of scoring a room with a view is quite good.

The rooms that face Central Park offer coveted views overlooking the park & depending on the season (think fall) the foliage is such a lovely backdrop to the spacious & luxurious rooms.
So from my bedroom window I open the blinds all the way, letting the light shine through into the room. Bright & light is such a mental booster isn’t it?

At home I’m a bit of a robe hoarder…If a hotel has a robe that’s absolute butter then I’ll usually purchase it to wear at home. I’ve picked up robes from Miraval, Four Seasons, Ritz & a super furry one from Pottery Barn. Note: you don’t have to break the bank with these! Stores like Target, Walmart + even Amazon have some fantastic selections with matching slippers. Because, why not!
Bring out those candles & line the bathroom with them. Some of my favorite scents remind me of the spa so I tend to pick candles that have a lavender, bergamot, rosemary or chamomile scent. I also recently purchased an at-home pedicure spa on Amazon. CLICK HERE to check out the one I purchased. Super relaxing & I usually throw in some eucalyptus foot salts for an extra soothing session.
For a super sudsy soak, we recommend L’OCCITANE. This is the go-to brand used at Hotel Jackson. We love the Lavender Foaming Bath & the Shea Body Shower Oil.
Another spa level choice would be ESPA. This is the go-to brand that Carlisle Bay, Antigua uses in their spa. ((INHALE))
We’d also be remise if we didn’t mention Aromatherapy Associates® offered at the spa at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in Kings Cross, London.
In effort to keep on brand with this blog, another favorite of mine comes from none other than the Ritz itself. The entire Asprey Purple Water collection is heavenly.
Now that you’ve gotten your bath on…it’s time to Mangia Bene! ((Eat Well))
This might be a bit time consuming depending on how fancy you’d like to get but typically my room service orders revolve around breakfast time so I usually opt to indulge myself in pancakes, waffles, avocado toast & freshly French pressed coffee. Note my nerdy (but tasty) Mickey waffles on a recent “HOME-TEL” experience.
So we’ve had our bath, indulged in some waffles & are currently walking around our suite taking in the views. Next up for me would have to be a glass of bubbles or herbal tea + catching up on some Netflix. What are you currently binging Travel Tribe? Comment below!

Over the years I have made a short-list, by city, of my absolute favorite hotels. These hotels have made traveling for work a little bit easier & a bit more indulgent. Now that we aren’t traveling for the time being, I decided to re-create the hotel experience (or should I say hotel amenities) that I’ve missed while being on the road.
